VERGO-Excel-M

In-vehicle Bike Storage Base

What's VERGO-Excel

When transporting bikes by car, you usually lay down the bike on the floor or leaning to the wall. But it will cause problems such as scratching the interior, the bikes will hit each other, and sometimes bike will give damage to other cargo if you drive hard.
In addition, you should regularly watch the bikes through the mirror to check if they are sitting stable. It is not good for your safety drive.

VERGO-Excel is a base bar device to mount bikes in the style that the holder clamps the front fork. It's clean and safe.

Difference from previous VERGO

The base bar material is changed from a flat oval steel tubing to a diamond dimension alloy tubing. The bar length stays the same; 970mm.
The material is soft enough to allow you to cut to your favorite length by a metal saw.

The fork mount can be fully position adjustable from end to end.
Each fork mount is off-set from the bar to work as a stabilizer.

Fork Mount

The fork mount is installed by clamping the base bar from up and bottom. It allows you to set the fork mount even in the opposite side. By setting the fork mounts alternatively, you can save the storage space by minimizing the clearance between each bike.

Each fork mount is also angle adjustable in every 20 degrees.
For example, twisting at 40 degrees allows you to set road bikes with drop-bar very tightly. It was impossible on the previous VERGO.

VERGO-Excel comes with 2 sets of fork mount for standard 9mm Q/R axle (100mm hub width).
By adding one more fork mount, you can store 3 bikes in one base.

Solution for Thru Axle

Special fork mount for 15mm and 20mm thru axle is available as option.

Just Put on the Floor, Super Easy

The modified points from previous VERGO

What you need is just putting VERGO-Excel on the floor. You don't need to drill the floor nor welding at all.

The main frame is changed from a thin steel tubing to a diamond dimension light alloy.
On the previous VERGO, the Fork Mounts are positioned in the center of the main bar, so certain weight was necessary. But we completely changed the design on VERGO-Excel to enable to reduce the weight significantly.
This weight reduction won't cause any problem such as less stability. Light weight helps your energy consumption level and the handling can be much easier.

New Fork Mount

Using quick release lever for easier usage

VERGO-Excel has newly designed Fork Mount.
Fork Mount is off-set from the main bar to work as a stabilizer to avoid rolling problem when you start rapidly. It can be installed on both backward and forward to be more stable, and also it allows to minimize the distance between the bikes.

Fork Mount is easily position adjustable by the quick release lever.
On the previous VERGO, Fork Mount was installed in the long hole on the base rail, so you needed to remove Fork Mount to change the position dramatically. But the new VERGO-Excel allows you to slide Fork Mount side to side without removing. Just loosening quick lever can do.

The quick release skewer for clamping the fork end is also changed to the lightweight alloy one.

Our Front Fork Mount fits 100mm width front wheel hub only. Any other sizes such as 75mm are not compatible.

Optional Fork Mount

In addition to 20mm, 15mm thru axle type is available

VERGO-Excel comes with two 9mm quick release skewer type fork mounts. By replacing it to the optional one, you can mount 20 mm thru axle hub on DH bikes, and also the latest 15 mm thru axle hub bike can be installed.

The main bar is long enough so you can mount up to 3 bikes at once.

Our Front Fork Mount fits 100mm width front wheel hub only. Any other sizes such as 75mm are not compatible.

Cautions

Important Notices

  • The bikes on VERGO-Excel are not fixed to the car. Do not apply hard braking, rapid accelerating and hard cornering, otherwise the bikes will be moved in the car and cause damages to your car and bikes. To prevent any possible troubles, we recommend you to hold the bikes with a tie-down rope to the car body.
  • The bike stability must be decreased when the fork is twisted because the body must lean slightly by the fork's caster angle. Use a tie-down rope in this style.
  • If the roof height is too low, the bike cannot be stored in the car. Check if your car is tall enough by lifting up the front fork 10 cm above the floor.
  • Some cars are too short to store the bike. At this time, remove the rear wheel too and use the optional Rear End Support to hold the frame.
  • When closing the rear hatch, make sure the handlebar doesn't hit the rear window and close gently.
  • The bikes on VERGO-Excel must be backward or forward. Sideward setting is not stable against your car actions, so we don't recommend it.
  • Not compatible with Cannondale "Lefty" front suspension fork.
  • Fits 100mm width front wheel hub only. Not compatible with any other sizes such as 75mm.
